Keeping yourself and your loved ones safe is important to every person. When driving on the road, there are a number of safe habits we can all employ to keep ourselves and other drivers safe such as using your turn signal and slowing down in dangerous weather. When you have engine trouble or a flat tire that requires you to pull over on the side of the road, it’s important to alert other drivers to avoid any serious accidents. Too many deaths have occured from drivers hitting people changing a tire or exiting their vehicle on the side of the road.

Be sure to always use your flashers anytime you pull over, especially at night or during poor weather when visibility is low. Having the right tire pressure has numerous advantages such as longer tread life, safer driving, improved traction and increased gas mileage. It’s important to have a high quality tire pressure gauge to get an accurate reading. Many people believe they can visually check a tire to see if it’s low. This is a bad habit to have because you visually can’t see a lower pressure tire until its well in the danger zone.

Another tip, look to your vehicles manual to learn where your correct tire pressure is. Many people look at the tire themsevles. The tire only lists maximum P.S.I. and every vehicle is designed to have a specific P.S.I. for the best performance and safety.
